Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients Indonesia Exploring the Future of Plant-Based Dairy Alternatives

In a groundbreaking collaboration between Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients Indonesia and partners Ingredion and Amano Enzyme, and a prominent university UPH (Universitas Pelita Harapan), a seminar was held on Thursday, September 7th, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The event, hosted at the university, revolved around the theme "Advanced Technology of Plant-Based Dairy Alternatives to Fulfill Consumer Daily Needs."

The morning began with eager participants gathering for the seminar, where they were greeted with snack boxes to kickstart the day and goody bags filled with product information. The event officially commenced at 10:30 AM.

The first speaker of the day, Wieke Agustina from Ingredion, took the stage to share invaluable insights into dairy alternatives. With a deep understanding of consumer preferences and market trends, Ingredion shed light on the big opportunities present in the dairy alternative sector. After the presentation, an engaging Q&A session allowed participants to delve deeper into the subject.

Following the enlightening session by Ingredion, Supaporn Naknukool from Amano Enzyme captivated the audience by delving into the latest technological advancements in plant-based dairy alternatives. This segment explored the innovative processes behind creating these products and how they are revolutionizing the way we meet our daily nutritional needs. By using enzyme technology, we could improve the plant-based dairy products into mimicking the real dairy derivatives products.

As the clock ticked towards noon, participants were treated to a delicious lunch. Desserts that tantalized the taste buds were also on offer, showcasing the versatility of plant-based ingredients in culinary creations.

Post-lunch, Ir. W. Donald Pokatong a representative from the collaborating university shared how important protein content in the plant-based source is and how a plant-based diet could improve and give health benefits to our body.

A highlight of the seminar was the hands-on experience provided to participants. They were given the opportunity to sample innovative plant-based dairy prototypes designed to cater to diverse consumer preferences. Feedback was actively encouraged, and participants were invited to share their thoughts by filling out a survey.

To encourage active participation, those who completed the survey were entered into a draw for a chance to win vouchers worth 1,250,000 IDR for 5 winners. The excited participants were seen as the winners were announced and the prizes distributed.

The seminar concluded with a group photo session, capturing the faces of enthusiastic participants, organizers, and speakers who had come together to explore the future of dairy alternatives. The event ended on a high note with a sense of camaraderie and shared knowledge.

This seminar served as an excellent platform for industry leaders, experts, and eager learners to collaborate, share, and innovate in the realm of plant-based dairy alternatives. It showcased not only the tremendous growth potential in this sector but also the journey towards a greener and more sustainable future, one plant-based dairy alternative at a time.
